From ice to severe weather, the Southern Plains has it all. March 1st is meteorological spring, which means severe thunderstorm and tornado season starts. Our first round will be the Southern Plains so read on for details …
Teleconnection pattern suggests the wide swings in deep troughs and arctic air shots will cease and the take over of the near zonal jet stream will begin, which means troughs (storms) into California yet again. As these jet out into Tornado Alley they will produce severe weather as the days are getting warmer and the sun angle is getting higher. These troughs will impact end month to March 1st or around there for parts of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. This means that you should continue monitoring National Weather Force for updates as this season will be yet another season running the all powerful tornado risk model. National Weather Force does issue tornado watches so be advised of this if you’re on the alert system. More updates will come.
