Severe Weather To Move Through Dallas-Fort Worth This Evening into The Night; Tornado Dynamics Model

A strong system that will cause a tornado outbreak in Dixie Alley will start in Texas today and move through the DFW Metroplex this evening and into tonight.  A very small area of very weak tornado dynamics is present so read on for details …

Upper divergence out ahead of a very strong tropical jet stream branch will move into the Mineral Wells, TX areas, west of the DFW Metroplex this evening.  This will spark thunderstorms there.  This activity will move northeast through the metroplex and into parts of Southeast Oklahoma and Northeastern Texas tonight.  Upper divergence does overrun the front as the night moves along so the best chance of a weak tornado will be near the DFW Metroplex zones this evening/early night – weakening trends as it moves into Oklahoma.

The zone for a very weak tornado is extremely small, which will showcase how my model runs for events.  But because it includes the DFW Metroplex I decided to do an article for the alert system.  A tornado watch will not be issued for this, but I expect it is possible a severe thunderstorm watch will go out over your devices, not issued by myself as I do not issue those for areas use to this kind of weather.  National Weather Force is a higher impact event notification system, such of which is the event that hits Dixie Alley the next day with this same system.

Storm systems and west coast troughs are lining up this Spring, which means tornado alley will be strong, including a number of violent EF4-5 tornado scenarios so best to always keep it to National Weather Force’s free e-mail alert system for when your state area is targeted.  If you are on the alert system, log into the site and do not forget to checkmark and save your locations.  You can’t just sign-up and expect the system to know where you live, you manually choose any location available.
