Flood Watch Issued For Deep South States Tuesday Night into Wednesday; Winter Storm Watch Issued For PA, NY, and VT For Wednesday Night Into Thursday

National Weather Force has issued over the e-mail alert system a Flood Watch for the Deep South states ravaged by tornadoes within the last week, in addition to a Winter Storm Watch for Northern PA through most of NY, and into Vermont so read on for details …

A weather system from the north will bring a frontal zone through Eastern TX later on Tuesday.  Overnight on Tuesday and into Wednesday, this front will bring a round of heavy rainfall to the Deep South.  The map included below is where the highest risk will be based off the National Weather Force flood risk model.  I’ve updated the algorithm to introduce the previous events, so if you are in a green area and had a lot of rain in the last week, you will see a flood issue as well.  This much rain on top of what you had would make this issue arise.  The worst areas will be Southeast Arkansas, eastward through the Northern parts of Mississippi and Alabama, most of Tennessee, and the Southern half of Kentucky.

The Winter Storm Watch runs from Wednesday night through some of Thursday.  This is a quick moving system and as the front moves across the Northeastern United States, cold air behind it will turn rain to snow across Pennsylvania, spreading northward through New York and Vermont.  Albany, NY is not in this watch … but areas west of it are.  Updates to this will be made as we near the event, including amounts, however this watch is to let you know that a round of heavy snow is coming Wednesday night through some of Thursday.  It should move out by Thursday afternoon through, leaving leaking lake effect snowfall for Western New York …
