An upper level low, typical for this time of year, will make its way into the forecast area on Saturday. Upper level divergence and instability with it will place the regions listed above in a thunderstorm risk. Out of the thunderstorm risk, some of the cells will have little rain with it, which will work with drier upper levels to produce numerous lightning strikes. These scenarios often spark new wildfires, which will easily happen over the weekend in the shaded areas for the image in this article.
