NWF Tornado Watch Issued For Northwestern Half of North Dakota; June 10, 2021

National Weather Force has issued a small-zoned tornado watch for West and Northwest North Dakota effect this evening so read on for details …

An upper-level jet stream that will bring more severe weather to Canada will have a southern extension of tornado dynamics.  Southeasterly backing winds already evident with developing instability will work to bring a small area within the northwestern half of North Dakota under the gun for tornadoes.  Some of the values are showing up strong so a stronger tornado cannot be ruled out.  This supercell will merge to a line of storms extending through South Dakota and blast east with mainly damaging winds overnight.  This watch window for tornadoes is a few hours long centering 5 to 7 pm Central Time.
