Flood Watch

Issued or Partial Issued States:  TX, LA – Map inside shows affected state areas.

Site:  National Weather Force has issued a Flood Watch effective Monday into Tuesday morning

Date:  1/23/22 at 12:30pm Central Time

Forecast: An upper level low will eject into Texas from the Pacific Southwest on Monday.  This system will draw in gulf moisture and bring a frontal zone across Central Texas on Monday morning, spreading throughout the day to the east, covering the Southeast half of the state, including Houston / Galveston / Beaumont.
This area will spread east into the Southern half of Louisiana by the overnight hours into Tuesday morning …
Enough instability is present to introduce thunderstorms for the watch area.  Waterspouts will be possible from the Galveston Bay area offshore to the oil rigs, some 100+ miles offshore …

This all will move out on Tuesday night for TX, and by Wednesday morning for Louisiana …

A NWF Flood Watch means conditions are possible for heavy rainfall in a short period of time that can lead to flooding in spots.  Hydroplaning on roadways is very likely in this type of scenario as well.
