Freeze Warning Issued Ahead of First Freeze of The Season For The Midwest and Northern Plains Thursday into Saturday

National Weather Force has issued both a Hard Freeze Warning and Freeze Warning as the first freeze of the season is to be expected across the Northern Plains.  A surface high pressure system, strong for this time of year, will move into the watch areas starting Thursday night and maximizing on Friday and Saturday morning, before departing to the east later in the weekend.  Strong sinking air within it will bring clear skies during the night, dry conditions, making it ripe for freezing and below freezing temperatures.

The National Weather Force Freeze Alerts are in effect for this period.

The Hard Freeze Warning means temperatures of 26F and lower will be expected during this period.

The Freeze Warning means temperatures between 27 and 32F will be expected during this period.
