National Weather Force has issued a Flood Watch for part of the following states, effective starting Thursday March 23, 2023. Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio so read on for details …
A potent storm system out of California will move through Northern Texas on Thursday, bringing a round of thunderstorms that will stretch from there into Oklahoma and east through Arkansas. This system will intensify as Friday move along, finally moving along the length of the National Weather Force risk zone in the article image. You can note that a high flood risk is being noted for Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Southwest Ohio. This will be most prominent on Friday where dangerous flood hazards exist.
A squall-line will move through the Tennessee portion of the watch area on Friday and Friday night, but it will not be as prolonged of a stay and thus the reason the National Weather Force model has a lower risk. Still, with the thunderstorms I do expect, you will see areas of localized flash flooding.
