Early Tropical System to Develop Off Carolina Coast Memorial Weekend To Bring Flooding Concerns to Carolinas

An early surface tropical low will develop off the South Carolina coast by Friday.  This will move in over the day on Saturday, bringing in strong moisture influx to the eastern half of South Carolina northward up through most of North Carolina.  This system will weaken over Eastern North Carolina on Sunday.

Saturday looks to be the worst day for the flood concern.  National Weather Force models have it at a moderate risk at the moment, but during the days to come, this will upgrade to a higher risk, especially the south and southeast half of North Carolina.

Strong wind gusts due to surface pressure differentials will be along the South and North Carolina coast for Friday but weaken as the flooding begins on Saturday.  National Weather Force will continue to monitor this area for additional upgrades, including issuing the National Weather Force Flood Watch so stay tuned if you are in the affected areas within the image in this article.
