Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Western & Central Alabama until 7am EDT Monday Morning

National Weather Force has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch/Outlook effective later tonight and going until 7am EDT for western & central Alabama.

A line of storms is expected to go through and impact the region late tonight. Already, atmosphere is expected to be unstable overnight, with the potential for all types of hazards. The instability levels will be quite high and expected to increase by late Monday morning due to surface heating. This combined with plenty of deep layer shear as well (especially more to the west) means that the conditions will be favorable for organized severe weather. This includes a cluster of severe storms, supercells, and possibly bowing line of storms. These severe weather conditions are expected to affect the area later tonight and redevelop again late Monday morning as well. The main threat will be damaging winds and large hail but, a tornado cannot be ruled out.
