Nor’easter to Impact New England and The Northeast on Monday; Flooding and High Winds

National Weather Force has issued a Flood Warning effective Monday for the following areas within this forecast article zone.

Zones affected: All of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, and New Hampshire.  Most of Massachusetts, including Boston but excluding Cape Cod.  Southern half of Maine.

Discussion:  A storm system that is bringing flooding to the Southeastern United States will move through the region on Monday.  Heavy rains will start by Monday morning, with a maximum period of rain and wind through the daylight hours on Monday.  Wind gusts along the coast and even a bit inland will be around 40 to 60 mph.

During systems like this, subway areas get flooded.  So, this is a thing to watch out for in the extreme risk zones.  Given Boston is in the high/notable area within the National Weather Force model (above image) we can note it will not be as bad as areas like New York City or even New Haven, Connecticut.

If you are in Cape Cod, you will not have a flood issue from the rains.  This area is targeted for the strongest wind, as is always usually the case in nor’easters.

This storm will vacate the area through the later evening and night on your Monday through the state of Maine.
