Nor’easter to Impact the Mid-Atlantic States Through the Northeast This Evening Through Monday; Flooding

National Weather Force has issued a Flood Warning effective this evening, tonight, and through Monday for the following areas within this forecast article zone.

Zones affected: Delaware, Western Maryland and Pennsylvania, and New York, with all of New Jersey.

Discussion:  A storm system that is bringing flooding to the Southeastern United States will move through the region.  Heavy rains will start by this evening, with a maximum period of rain and wind through the overnight hours and into Monday.  Wind gusts along the coast and even a bit inland will be around 40 to 60 mph.  This is directly targeting a major metro area, New York City especially.

During systems like this, New York City’s subway areas get flooded.  There is no doubt that this will happen with this event so if you have plans on being down there, make alternative plans and/or watch your surroundings.

Thunderstorms are going to be likely along the coast, in areas like Delaware, New Jersey, and even New York City with the upper dynamics from the system.

National Weather Force models show an extreme risk for these areas.  The key is within the image in this article.

This storm will vacate the area through the afternoon and evening on Monday.
