What will develop into Hurricane Milton will need to be watched this week across Florida, particularly Tampa Bay through Orlando.
As stated here back on September 28th, a system would develop during the weekend of October 5th, 2024, and all within that shaded zone would need to keep an eye on further updates (reference A below).
This system will develop into a Tropical Storm sometime today and reach Hurricane status by tomorrow (Sunday) as it moves east-northeast across the Central Gulf of Mexico. This likely will be called Milton, which does not sound too threatening.
Interests across the entire Florida Peninsula should remain vigilant to my forecast. This system has the power to reach category four status. Main area I am watching on the path is a direct hit on Tampa Bay by Wednesday.
