Gulf State Tornado Outbreak Projected to Start the Year with a Bang; January 5, 2025

National Weather Force has issued a Tornado Outlook today through this evening, January 5, 2025

Zones Affected:  Eastern Texas, Southern/Southeast Arkansas … West/Northwest Mississippi … Northern half of Louisiana …

A storm system that is producing an Ice Storm north of the focus area through Missouri and Kentucky, will bring a line of severe thunderstorms through the tornado zone.  Storms moving out of Eastern Texas will produce storms ahead of it.  There is a chance that storms within the strong tornado zone will produce an EF3 tornado as long as the supercell is isolated and ahead of the main squall-line.  Eventually, later today, we will see the merge of these supercells into the squall-line as they move through the end of the zone (Mississippi) and the tornado threat will end.
